Michael S. Sutton Elected President
of Bank of Evansville
Evansville, Indiana, August 24, 2004 - Bank of Evansville, N. A. (OTCBB: BEVN) announced today Michael S. Sutton has been elected President and Chief Operating Officer, as well as a member of the Bank's Board of Directors. He formerly served as Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer at the Bank. His responsibilities will include directing and managing all banking operations on a day-to-day basis.
Thomas L. Austerman, Chief Executive Officer, commented, "This orderly progression has been a part of the Bank's succession plan since inception. Mike's appointment reflects his contribution to our company's success."
Sutton stated, "I am looking forward to the assumption of additional responsibilities as President and Chief Operating Officer and will be working closely with Tom and the Board of Directors as we continue to build on what is a very strong foundation for our company. Bank of Evansville has assembled a talented team of experienced banking professionals; I am honored to be associated with this group."
Sutton joined Bank of Evansville during its organizational phase in 2000. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting at Indiana University and is a Certified Public Accountant. His professional background includes three years with Geo. S. Olive & Co., CPAs, in their banking division. He has held corporate lending positions with Citizens Bank, as well as management positions with United Fidelity Bank and Integra Bank. His experience consists of 22 years in the Evansville banking community.
In addition to his professional experience, Sutton has been very active in community service organizations. His service includes: past United Way Campaign Chairperson, President of the United Way Board, President of Evansville ARC Foundation Board, member of the Evansville Goodwill Industries Board, and member of the St. Mary's Foundation Board.
Bank of Evansville is a full service, nationally chartered bank that opened on July 2, 2001, to provide community banking for businesses and consumers in the Evansville area.
