Bank of Evansville Purchases Landmark East Side Building
Evansville, IN - Bank of Evansville has just signed a purchase agreement with Evergreen Group to obtain the corporate office building located at 4424 Vogel Road. The building will become the bank's permanent headquarters.
Bank of Evansville's President Tom Austerman, said that the bank had explored many options in its quest to find a permanent location on the east side. "This opportunity recently presented itself, and was the answer to our long and short term needs," he commented. "After careful consideration on economics, location and professional image, we decided to acquire this building."
The four-story Eastland Executive Park Building is located directly across Vogel Road from Lazarus at Eastland Mall. The property is considered to be a landmark location, and is situated in the heart of commercial east side.
"This is truly an opportunity of a lifetime," Austerman said. "We are a business bank, and this building will provide Bank of Evansville with a more corporate image in a very economic way."
Bank of Evansville plans to occupy all of the building's first floor - approximately 10,000 square feet. Prior to moving into their new space, the bank plans to make major renovations to both the exterior and interior of the building, including the addition of a state-of-the-art drive through facility. Austerman said that their creative renovation plans will help in making this property a "premier professional building."
There are several businesses that currently lease space in the Eastland Executive Park Building, including Remax and Curran Miller Auctions. Austerman said that all of the existing businesses are being offered the right to keep their operations in this building, although a few offices will have to be moved to other space within the building once the bank takes over the first floor. He also anticipates a small amount of additional space to be available to Evansville businesses for lease.
"With Bank of Evansville as an anchor in this property, we feel that the marketability of this office space will be greatly enhanced," added Austerman. "I expect this location to become one of the most desirable professional buildings on the east side."
Austerman also added that this acquisition will provide a great enhancement to the bank's shareholder value. "This new building allows Bank of Evansville to accelerate our long term plans and expand opportunities that will be presented in the future," he said. "We will be able to focus on our asset growth and customer service of the bank, and at the same time meet the facility needs for many years to come."
Bank of Evansville currently operates out of a temporary office on the east side, located at 5130 Vogel Road, Suite 130. Austerman projects the east side branch will move to its new location sometime in the last quarter of 2002. Its west side office - situated at 530 N. St. Joseph Avenue is a permanent location for the bank.
